New winners arrive in
Riverside Raceway victory lane as
Tim Miller paces Stinger action and Jeremy Melton captures Pure Stocks!

August 28, 2001; Eagle River, WI. - Marathon
Media Stations, WHRN, WHDG, and WRJO presented Tuesday night's show at Riverside Raceway
in Eagle River.
Rob Rodziczak passed Tim Miller in the first Bandit heat late
in the race for the win and Bruce Belland edged out Miller for second at the flag. Heat
two saw Rich Rosemark take command early and never looked back. Mark Schuenemann held off
Tim Rosemark for second.
In the first Pure Stock race Marlys Scharf came from the back with some gutsy driving to
take the checkers with Ron Reese second and Keith Durand third. Heat two had Jeremy Melton
hold off Point leader Brian Slizewski to take the win. Vic Bodamer took a third.
Ken Valeria slipped by Mike Boyd to capture the Street Stock first heat win with Boyd
second and Ryan Glembin third. In heat two, Ollie Schoonover took the win with Dennis
LaCrosse second and Joe St Germain third. In a season first, mechanical problems took
their toll until only Fritz Scharf remained in heat three. As he approached the checkered
flag, a right rear axle broke and he limped across the finish line for the win. Shawn
Bialas was scored second and Nick Chapman third.
In the Miller Lite A-Mod heat Guy Carly outlasted Scott Blamberg for the win. Tad
Schoonover scored third.
After intermission the Bandit feature got the show started. Tim Miller held off a hard
charging Mark Schuenemann for the win. Bruce Belland came from the rear to capture third.
Next came the Pure Stocks. Jeremy Melton got by Chad Rosinski on lap three and held off
Marlys Scharf until the race came up against the time limit with eleven of the fifteen
laps completed. Point leader, Brian Slizewski wound up third.
Guy Carly led the Miller Lite A-Mods feature for a few laps until overtaken by Bob
Kleinschmidt. The very next lap Scott Blamberg took over and went on to win Kleinschmidt
held on to second and Kenny Smith finished third.
The Street Stock feature came to the line next. Dennis LaCrosse held on to the lead until
lap ten when Ken Valeria took over and was first to the checkers. He was followed by Ryan
Glembin and Fritz Scharf. Valeria increased his lead over Scharf in the overall point's
race. It will be decided in the last point's race of the year on Sunday, September 2nd,
2001.
Saturday, September 15th is Fan Appreciation Night at Riverside Raceway with free
admission to all spectators. No Carry-ins please. Fireworks will follow both nights'
