Scharf's top Street Stock and Pure Stock action at Riverside!!

June 26, 2001; Eagle River, WI. -It was Budweiser night at the races Tuesday, June 26th, at Riverside Raceway in Eagle River. The action kicked off with the Bandit heat races, which were won by Ryan Burzinski and Jim Nieckula. The Pure Stocks were next and Chad Rosinski took the checkers in heat one with Vic Bodamer the victor in heat two.

Fritz Scharf (#1) survived a caution filled event to top the Street Stock action this evening at Riverside Raceway.

Current point leader Bob Kleinschmidt (#0) came out on top of this evening's A-Modified feature race.

Bruce Belland (#22) enjoys another Bandit feature win at Riverside Raceway.

Mike Vogt won heat one in the Street Stock with the second heat taken by Kevin Maulson in a close finish. The Miller Lite A-Mod heat was won by Troy Payne with Scott Blamberg second and Mark Albertus in third.

The Street Stock feature was led early by 3Z, Mike Vogt. Fritz Scharf got by him on lap four. Vogt then had mechanical troubles and retired early. Scharf never gave up the lead and won the caution-shortened race. Shawn Bialas, #35, finished second and Kevin Maulson third.

The Miller Lite A-Mod feature followed with pole sitter Mark Albertus jumping off to a lead over Scott Blamberg. On lap five, Blamberg spun and Albertus had a flat tire that put him on pit lane. Bob Kleinschmidt inherited the lead and never gave it up. Troy Payne finished second with Scott Blamberg third.

Ron Reese led the Pure Stock feature but an early spin sent him to the back. Don Leifer took over the lead on the restart and held it for a couple of laps but got into the guardrail hard on the backstretch and was done for the night. Marlys Scharf was the new leader followed by Vic Bodamer and Chad Rosinski. They held their positions to the checkered flag.

The last feature of the night was the Bandits. Rich Rosemark sat on the pole and led for five laps. He couldn't hold off Bruce Belland who went on to win. Rosemark was second and Robin Smith third.

Thad Boettcher won Street Eliminator for the second week in a row.
