Thad Boettcher scored yet another victory in the Street Eliminator events.

The program got underway with the Bandit heats. Mark Schuenemann took the first heat followed closely by Tim Rosemark. Tim Miller placed third. Heat two saw Jim Nieckula lead from flag to flag for the win followed by Bruce Belland and Robin Smith. The final heat of Bandits was won by Rich Rosemark with Paul Malouf second and Dan Zelton third.

Pure Stock heat one saw Chad Rosinski take the early lead and never look back. He was followed by Marlys Scharf and Chad Belland. Vic Bodamer got by Ron Reese on lap three of the second heat of Pure Stocks and went on to win. Jeremy Melton, followed by Brian Slizewski, took second place.

The Street Stocks were next with Birthday Boy Shawn Bialas holding off a hard charging Ken Valeria. Neal Slizewski in a rebuilt  #11 took third. Heat two saw early leader John Johnson victorious over Fritz Scharf and Dennis LaCrosse.

In the Miller Lite A-Mod heat, Tad Schoonover took the checkers over Scott Blamberg and Bob Kleinschmidt.

At intermission the kids were invited to participate in the special  “Money Grab” event. Thirty rolls of nickels were scattered in two piles of sawdust. Also buried were golden dollar coins and their finders were entitled to ride in the Dodge Viper pace car later that night. Over 80 kids ten years and under made the sawdust fly as they dug for coins.

The Miller Lite A-Mods kicked off the feature events. Leader Tad Schoonover and Bob Kleinschmidt made contact in corner four and Kleinschmidt retired to the pits. A couple of laps later Scott Blamberg tapped leader Schoonover spinning him around. Blamberg was sent to the back on the restart. Ken Smith made a real race out of it, pressuring leader Schoonover until the end. Blamberg ended up third.

Victor Bodamer passed Jeremy Melton on lap three of the Pure Stock feature race to take the lead. Several restarts and twelve laps later, he still had the lead although he was duly challenged by Brian Slizewski and Marlys Scharf.

The Street Stock feature was run next with John Johnson’s #33 leading for several laps. On a restart, Fritz Scharf got along side of Johnson on the outside and exiting turn four they ran out of room. Scharf ended up on top of the concrete wall and Johnson ended up on his roof catching fire when flipped back over with the tow truck. Ken Valeria had no place to go and ended up underneath Scharf’s car. Everyone was uninjured and when the dust settled Johnson and Scharf retired to the pits and Valeria followed them shortly. This left Kevin Maulson in the lead and the eventual winner followed by Mike Boyd and Shawn Bialas.

Fourteen Bandits started the feature. Rich Rosemark who took a nasty trip over the guardrail last week enjoyed the lead after the third lap and held on to the checkers. Bruce Belland came from the back to challenge for the lead but had to settle for second. Robin Smith who ran strong the whole race finished third.

Thad Boettcher seems unbeatable in the Street Eliminator, as he took home the trophy once again.
