The Street Stocks were next up. Shawn Bialas was back after taking a week off due to axle problems and won the heat race handily. The first heat of the Pure Stocks was a thriller. On lap 7, Marlys Scharf got around B.J. Slizewski for the lead. B.J. hung with Marlys and off the last corner on the last lap, he drove to the inside. His charge ended eight inches short as Marlys Scharf held on to victory. It looked like there would be a similar battle in Pure stock heat number two between
Rob Rodziczak and Jeremy Melton, but Melton, driving number 81 for his brother, Dan, got
loose on lap 6 and lost control. This gave Rodziczak the easy victory. During intermission, the kids took part in the annual money grab, and while no kid found a toad this year, five kids found Sacajewea Dollars and got to ride in the Doge Viper pace car, before the features. The first of the features was for the Miller Lite A-Mods. John Eckert was nearly a half of a lap back in second. Ken Valeria extended his points lead as he held off Frtiz Scharf for third. Shawn Bialas was fifth. B.J. Slizewski took the lead with six laps to go in the Pure Stock feature. Ron Reese,
who relinquished the lead, was thrown into a hotly contested battle for second. Resse, Rob
Rodziczak, and Marlys Scharf fought it out in the remainig laps but they would cross the
