August 10, 2004; Eagle River, WI. - The unseasonably cold, damp
conditions that plagued the Northwoods on Tuesday prompted track officials to cancel WJFW
NBC 12 Night at Riverside Raceway. Track Owner and Promoter Don Scharf stated that while
the clay surface may have been raceable by race time, it would not have produced a
good show and the weather would have made the night miserable for drivers and fans alike.
A skydiving troop out of Pulaski,
Wisconsin was supposed to be on hand for the National Anthem. They have agreed to
reschedule and appear next Tuesday, August 17, on WRJO Night at the track. WJFW will team
up with Jensen-Akins Hardware to sponsor racing action on Tuesday, August 24, featuring
the Eagle River 30 Fire-Up Fireworks WISSOTA Street Stock Special. |
