Thunderstorms Wash Away Action at Riverside
By Jeremy Mayo

July 25, 2006; Eagle River, WI. - Drivers and fans were gearing up for the Eagle River 30 WISSOTA Street Stock Special Tuesday Night at Riverside Raceway. They will have to wait one more week. A thunderstom pushed through Eagle River at roughly 7:00 PM, promting Riverside Raceway owner/promoter Don Scharf to cancel the night's racing program.

Many were happy to know that thunderstorms earlier in the afternoon were not enough to cancel the races. The track was very wet as of 5:00 PM, but officials said the track would have been raceable, had no more rain fallen.

Because of the rain out, the third this season at Riverside Raceway, the third annual Eagle River 30 will be held Tuesday, August 1. The 30-lap special for the Fire-Up Fireworks WISSOTA Street Stock class will pay $300 to the winner.

The good news, for now, is that there is good weather in the forecast. As of Tuesday Evening, the National Weather Service is predicting partly cloudy skies and temperatures near 90 degrees.
