Passing was at a
premium in the Fire-Up Fireworks WISSOTA Street Stock.
Jordan Kurtti from Bruce Crossing, MI took the lead from
the outside pole on the initial start, but would have to
do it again when John Osterman spun in turn four.
On the restart, Kurtti took the lead from Chad Boettcher
in turn two. That proved to be the winning move. Boettcher
stayed within two car lengths of Kurtti for the duration
of the 15-lap feature, but could never make a pass. The
18-year old Kurtti claimed his second straight feature win
at Riverside. Boettcher, Jim Randall, Craig Tarsi and Lee
Christjohn rounded out the top five.
It took Chad Rosinski just three laps into the Pure Stock
feature and held off eventually held off Jeff McDonald in
a green-white-checkered finish, set up by problems on the
Kevin Maulson, Jr. car. For Rosinski, it was his fourth
win of the season at Riverside. His point lead over
McDonald remained at three points.
It was sixteen-year old Eric Scharf who took the win in
the Family Four class. He led all ten lap of the feature
to claim his second win of 2006.
Racing continues Tuesday night at Riverside. Hot Laps
start at 7:30. Racing beings at 8:00.
