Phillips, Bates Dominate
at Speedway USA!

Bolivar, MO. - Five
time NASCAR champion Larry Phillips posted another
win at Speedway USA Friday night. Phillips holds the points lead in the Grand
American Late Model Division, over Tim Swearingin, Springfield, who took the second
spot. Third place went to Steve Holt and Walnut Groves Jerry Kelly finished fourth.
Republics Roy Chism took fifth,
6th - Sam Payne, Buffalo, 7th - Jim Hunt - Wilard, 8th - Eddie Clark - Lebanon, 9th -
Charlie Johnson and 10th - Ron Polodna.
Street Stock Divsion placed Scott Johnson in the OReillys winner circle. Johnson held off point leader Mike Shaddy, Lebanon for the win. Third position went to Andy Jenkins, Rogersville, 4th Steve Maddux - Richland, 5th - Jared Brown - Willard, 6th - Toby harden - Ozark and 7th - Clyde Long - Halfway.
After a week of motor troubles for many of the OReilly Auto Parts Division, David Bates stood in the winner circle finishing ahead of his brother, Jay Bates, Fair Grove. Richland Brian Schutt, who had posted his first win of his career at I-44 Speedway the previous week, finished third. Joplins Jim McMurray finished fourth, 5th - Lendall Alexander, Springfield, 6th - Jerry Garretson, Bolivar, 7th - Jim Cates, Bolviar and 8th - Brian Kapica, Buffalo.
David Rich, who has been on a hot streak of late, posted his second straight vistory in the Pure Street Division. Jerry Garretson, point leader, fisihed in the second spot, while Buffalos Cleo Jasper finished third. Fourth spot went to Halfways Robert Claunch, 5th - Jeff Richardson, Phillipsburg, 6th - Roy Gladden, Bolivar, 7th Chuck Fers, Marshfield, 8th - Dan Polodna, Aldrich, and 9th - Dan Scroggins, Springfield.
The Bolivar KART Series took to the track and in the Heavy Division it was Billings Brian Neely taking the top honors. Neely finshed ahead of last weeks winner Travis Jones, Osceloa, and third place Webb Citys Chance Hines. The top ten finishers were 4th - Chris Newman, 5th - Bradley Neely, 6th - Troy Young, 7th - Shawn Brock, 8th Larry Sayer, 9th- Jim Yates, and 10th Jon Cunningham.
In the medium division it was Chris Newman, Webb City, taking the
checkered flag. Second position went to Travis Jones, 3rd spot - Brian Neely and 4th
was Shawn Brock. Fifth spot was that of Bradley Neely, 6th Dick Gardner, 7th Jeff
Oldham, 8th Tara Vaught and 10th Chance
Hines.
The Junior Division placed Daniel Shirley in the winners circle for the second week in a row. Jacob magnin finished second with Jhn Gibson finishing third. Fourth spot went to Will Vaught, 5th Robbie Bryant, 6th Jeremy Kelly, 7th Ashely Bates, 8th Bandon Horinek, 9th J. J. Gummund and 10th Greg West.
