August 21, 1999; Sturgeon Bay, WI. - A smooth fast track and five divisions made for a big night of racing at the Hill Saturday night.

John Soukup set the pace early in the Modified feature with Darrell Massart running second until lap 8 when he pulled even with the leader in turn 2. The pair ran side by side for a couple laps before Massart took command of the race on lap 10. Cautions on laps 11 and 12 bunched the field on Massart but he continued to lead with Chris Derenne moving into the runner up spot after the restart, Soukup came back to the inside of Derenne as they ran side by side until the final caution appeared on lap 16.

With the time lime expiring, the race would be green, white, checker.

Massart still led the way but Derenne moved inside on the final lap and in the drag race down the back chute, pulled ahead and drove to the line to win his second feature of the season. Todd Dart was also able to sneak inside Massart and nipped him at the line for the second place finish. Massart took third with Buck Schmelzer taking fourth. Randy LeMieux and Dave Zeitler rounded out the top six.

Dave Pavlik open the IMCA Stock Car feature by leading the way for the first 4 laps before Tim Van De Hei powered by on the inside and pulled away from the field. Van De Hei hooked on the outside line and never looked back running alone to his first feature win of the season here.

Rob Gagne moved by Pavlik into second on lap 10 and set out to chase down the leader, running alone to finish second. The battle heated up for third as Pavlik, Craig Paque, Matt Junio, Eric VanIten and point leader, Larry Karcz went at it during the non stop race. With 5 laps left, Charlie Kroll started working through the pack and at the finish, was in third place behind Van De Hei and Gagne. Paque took the fourth place finish with Karcz and Junio rounding out the top six.

Kevin Jandrin led the way for the first 4 laps of the Street Stock main with Ed Anschutz using the outside route into the lead on lap 5. Jared Siefert was running in fifth at that time but in one more lap, used the inside line to power into the lead. Gregg Siebold moved into the runner up spot 2 laps later, but could not get close enough to the leader to mount a serious challenge, leaving Siefert to run to his third feature win of the season. Anschutz held on to finish third with point leader, Bernie Reinhardt right behind at the finish in fourth and second place driver Shawn Olson in fifth. Tom Daubner finished the top six.

Greg Soukup (#97) enjoyed his first ever feature victory on Saturday evening.  Soukup won the Bomber  feature on the third mile clay oval. 82199a.jpg (15472 bytes)

James Anderson led the opening lap of the bomber main before Tony Herbst took charge and started to open a lead over the field. A caution on lap 4 bunched the pack on the leader with Greg Soukup in second followed by Anderson, Bill LeMieux, Brent Eisenman end Jeremy Wiitala.

Herbst held the top spot for 2 more laps before Soukup took over and pulled away from the field. Wiitala moved into second with 5 laps left and started to close on the leader, but Soukup held off the challenge to win his first career feature. Wiitala was second ahead of LeMieux, Herbst, point leader, Mike Soukup end Travis Annoye.
