Rain stops Thunderhill program short!

May 27, 2000; Sturgeon Bay, WI. - Despite rain throughout the area all day, the Thunder Hill started their Memorial Day weekend program on time Saturday night.

Tim McCormick (#10) had a chance to win his first race at The Hill in IMCA Stock Car action before the rain came.	Chris Christensen (#36) won his first race of the season taking a heat race during IMCA Modified action.

However, mother nature began to drop rain at the speedway just as the first of four STAR 97.7 features was to roll trackside.  Despite several attempts to get the track back and the racing started, the rains continued and washed out the feature events.  The qualifying events in all divisions were completed before the rain, so it was called a complete program.

Racing will resume next week.  Racing starts at 6:00pm every Saturday night.

The Sport Trucks were on hand as an added attraction however rains kept the class from completing their feature event.  The four cylinder powered compact trucks take to the track a couple times each season.  Here Dave Davister shows off the checkered flag after winning the heat race.
