Nawrocki doubles down in Bombers; Stevens scores one
for the ladies at Tomahawk!

June 14, 2003; Tomahawk, WI. - His car makes you wonder if primer may somehow qualify as a color, but it really
doesn't matter what your car looks like when you're winning feature races as much as Tim Nawrocki. The Wausau Bomber driver made it three feature wins on the week by picking up a pair on Saturday night at Pepsi Raceway Park. Nawrocki won a feature race suspended by rain last week, and then came back to take this evening's Bomber main and highlight a
diverse list of winners in Tomahawk.

Thursday night, Nawrocki also wheeled his 1987, still-needs-paint Pontiac Firebird to a feature win in the Street Stocks at State Park Speedway in Wausau. He was dominant again tonight, setting fast time before
beginning the evening's racing by picking up where last week left off before rain stopped the program.

In the completion of last week's feature, Nawrocki started from the second spot he was racing at last week and quickly took the lead, moving outside of C.J. Hedges, Jr. on the lap 7 restart to take the lead. He won that race by five car lengths over Hedges, and he came back in the second feature to do the same, this time taking the lead from Wally Laffin on lap 12 and then maintaining a comfortable lead the rest of the way.

Glenda Stevens carried the flag for the ladies with a big night in the Street Bandits Division. Stevens picked up her first career checkered flag by winning her heat race, and then doubled her pleasure with another first-her first feature race win.
Stevens led from start to finish in the feature, and held off fellow Tomahawk driver Keith Troutman for the victory. That Troutman even entered the feature was an accomplishment, as he was involved in a heat race accident where his car went hard into the new turn three retaining wall and rolled onto its top. Troutman was uninjured in the incident.

Lyle Nowak and John Paszek are still the only two drivers to win Late Model features at PRP this season, as the two split a pair of features on this evening. Nowak won the first feature, a make-up of last week's event, while Paszek hung on for the win in the second feature.

Nowak took the lead from Larry Olson on a lap 18 restart in the first feature, and held on through a late restart to beat Bo Bennish and Paszek across the line for his third feature win of the season. In the second feature, Paszek worked outside of Rocky Carlson on a lap 9 restart to take the lead, and checked out, leaving the rest of the field to race for second until
a caution for a Matt Schulz spin with six to go. Paszek weathered the restart, though, and edged Nowak by half a car length for the win, with Bennish finishing third.

Curt Luedtke had to do some hot driving of his own to win the Pro-Bandits feature. Luedtke led all 20 laps of the main, but had Lance Dehnel hot on his tail for much of the race. Dehnel, back with a new car after hitting the turn four wall hard last week, worked over Luedtke for the final ten laps of the race. The two made contact on lap 12, with Luedtke sliding into the
grass on the backstretch, but the Wausau driver was able to keep control and come back on trade in front of Dehnel at the entrance of turn three.

Racing continues at PRP next week, and the Legends cars will be on hand along with the regular classes. Time trials start at 5:30 p.m., with racing following at 7.
