June 28, 2003; Tomahawk, WI. - Races
for Saturday, June 28 at Pepsi Raceway Park in Tomahawk were called off after rain showers
hit north central Wisconsin and wouldn't go away. It was the second rainout of the year at
PRP, and the first since the season opener was cancelled for rain on May 10th.
Racing will continue next week when PRP hosts the second leg of the Pepsi
Wisconsin Mid-Season Championship. The show will be highlighted by a 50-lap Late Model
feature and a 40-lap Bomber feature. The Late Model main will pay $300 to win, and a $400
bonus will go to the driver who has the most combined points over Thursday's first leg of
the championship at State Park Speedway in Wausau and Saturday's race in Tomahawk. Time
trials will start at 5:30 p.m., with racing to follow at 7 p.m.
