Scott Uttech clearly had the fastest car on the track as he smoothly motored to second from mid-pack in very short order. In no time at all, it was Uttech building up a sizable straightaway lead over Kertscher who managed to pass Eggert for second behind Uttech. Twenty furious laps proved to be no contest for Uttech as he nearly owned the second half of the race. Following him were Kertscher, Mike Emme, Eggert and Dave Lisowe.
