Emme tops the "Great Indoors" during Mini-Nationals!

January 22, 2000, Milwaukee, WI -  Mike Emme battled 14 other Wisconsin Mini-sprint Association action on the 1/8 paved oval. Jeff Schmidt, Craig Gravatt and Bob Richert jumped out to the early lead an started to pull away, once the race got under way, also showing some agressive tendancies at the initial start.

Once the race got going it was slowed a few more times with the most severe of this race being Schmidt whose night ended when he made hard contact with the turn 2 tires marking the infield. Gravatt inherited the lead close to halfway and didn't look back untill he mad hard contact with a lapped car which took him out just off turn four on the last lap, Emme grabbed the lead four feet form the Finish and held off Gravatt and his broken mount. for the win. Gravatt held on for Second.

Scott Sippel's mount did not suffer more than bolt on parts in both the heat flip and in the B- main crash. He'll be fast again this year.

Elkhart Lake's John Sauermilch's night ended in the Midget B when he made contact wiht another car sending him to the outside wal in one and two which saw him bunny hop onto the barrier and flip and slide down the wall. John's okay but the car and pride were hurt.

During the Open wheel school held friday, Gravatt hit the wall and climbed up the frontstretch barrier. According to Jeff "workin" Harder the crews were up rather late fixing the mount which almost paid off in a win. But almost doesn't count. Nice job everyone who made a great event possible, from a fans perpective the show was entertaining to say the least!
